• What did you like most?
  I booked an ocean front room and it was wonderful. The room was large and had a mini fridge and coffee maker. There were no obstructions between me and my view of the beach and the ocean. The balcony was amazing and gave a wonderful view of the ocean and the Friday night fireworks show put on by one of the other Waikiki Beach hotels. An ocean view room would not have allowed for the unobstructed view and likely would not have allowed viewing of the fireworks. The sunsets from the balcony were stunning and almost every morning there was a rainbow over the water. The location was directly across the street from Waikiki beach so once you walked out of the hotel you were in the water within 5 minutes or less. There were several restaurants and shops nearby and the Waikiki Trolley stop was next to the valet stand. Excellent location to enjoy the tourist sights and bustle of Waikiki Beach.
• Was there anything you didn't like?
  A few items I did not like. 1. Refillable water bottles were provided, which is a nice touch to limit uses of plastic bottles. However, you can only refill them on the 3rd floor near reception of on for 1st floor near the valet stand. Other hotels do this, but have water fill stations next to the ice machines on each floor. Please encourage people to not use plastic bottles, but provide a convenient location to refill on each floor. 2. The elevators are very slow and do not have buttons inside to select the floor. You have to use your key card and they only go to the floor your room is on. I assume this is a security measure, but if your key card has the wrong floor assigned (which happened to me), you are unable to get to the correct floor and your room. My key card thought I was on the 9th floor and would only take me to the 9th floor or down to the lobby. Very frustrating when you are tired an just want to go to your room. 3. I called the reception desk for help with the key card. I called 8 times over a 1 hour period and no one answered. I finally went downstairs and found that only on person was working the reception desk (this was during their check in time) and they were too swamped with customers at the desk to be able to answer the phone. This is terrible service. The person who eventually helped me was very kind and resolved the issue, but it should not have required me to go downstairs to get a hold of a staff member. 4. When I arrived I was trying to manage two rolling bags, a personal bag and a cpap case all on my own, but no bell service was offered. 5. Breakfast at the Coconut Club was overpriced for a very limited menu and semi-counter service.

Great oceanfront view rooms and free beach gear! Otherwise an average acceptable hotel.

• What did you like most?
  We had a room with oceanfront view and the view was amazing! It's 100% worth paying more for it. We enjoyed sunrises on our balcony every day. If not the view, the hotel would be an average American hotel. The location is also amazing, you get to Waikiki just by crossing the street. There are good coffee shops and restaurants in the building and around it. The hotel provides free beach gear in a surf shop in the building. That was a super nice feature, we took an umbrella and 2 beach chairs every day and didn't need to pay outrages prices for rentals on a beach. Oh, and they have a small but very nice feature - they give you reusable water bottles and they have free water filling stations. So you don't need to think about where to get drinking water. It's important in the hot climate.
• Was there anything you didn't like?
  The hotel itself if a little outdated, but that's fine by American standards. They tried to refresh it, so the overall feeling is ok, it's acceptable. The only real complaint was mattresses - they were old and saggy. You'd expect much better beds from a hotel claiming to have 4 stars.
